Help Our Mission

Donations help Harris County Pets tremendously through programs such as foster emergency veterinary care, animal transport, special adoption events, and much more. Donations also support the ongoing non-mandated needs of Harris County Pets.  Big or small, every single donation is greatly appreciated!   

HOW DO WE COLLECT DONATIONS? 

We are currently using two main methods to collect donations: PayPal and Facebook.

• PayPal: To make a general donation Fee-Free visit www.paypal.com/us/fundraiser/charity/118750.  Since it's PayPal, it's easy and secure. You can also select from various pre-selected programs or causes by visiting our website's campaign-focused page from the menu. 
• Facebook:  You can visit our Facebook page and click the donate button or visit https://www.facebook.com/fund/FOCPets/. Facebook operates as the payment processor of those donations. They also provide your donation acknowledgment for tax purposes.
• Associations to benefit the organization by in-kind products or monetary donations can be found here.
• Checks: Friends of CountyPets, now authorizes electronic fund transfer. By sending your donation to Friends of CountyPets directly from your U.S. bank account via ACH transfer or electronic funds, you can avoid having transaction fees deducted from your donation.

A check can be mailed to Friends of CountyPets at 612 Canino Rd, Houston, TX 77076, with a Bank Authorization form to set up electronic transfers for the initial donation. If you're looking to make a recurring donation online, please consider using Paypal, or if you prefer invoicing for electronic funds or ACH transfer payment, contact Harris County Pets or the FoCP Board.

You may also authorize FoCP to debit your account for returned check fees electronically. You allow these electronic fund transfers if you complete the transaction after being told (orally or by a notice posted or sent to you) that we may process the transfer electronically, including if you sign a written authorization.

All donations or campaign fundraisers made for restricted causes stay with those programs. 

Restrictive or In-Kind Donations:

If you want items or supplies to go directly to animals you might consider purchasing items from our wish lists on Chewy or via Amazon as it ships directly to Harris County Pets. FoCP utilizes any and all in-kind donations or non-cash donations to be used at Harris County Pets animal center for daily operations. Any items purchased from partner sites or wish lists are sent directly to the center for their immediate use.

To restrict your montary donation made to a general or unrestricted campaign fund, please contact info@friendsofcountypets.org immediately. This PayPal Donation button offers several options already available for focus areas with our organization.

Other Ways to Target Specific Needs:

1. You can pledge an amount and we can send you an invoice via email to complete at your convenience online securely with a card or by bank information.

2. You can create a Facebook fundraiser that can be restricted to your wishes. The fundraiser must be publicly available for viewing in order for us to verify the restrictions, or you must state in your Title, "For Cat Medical Treatment" or simply "For the Foster Pets of HCP".

3. You can set up a Bank Draft with us and restrict the donation using this form on our website. You can mail this to Harris County Pets Attn Donations, 612 Canino Rd, Houston, TX 77076 with a canceled check.

Harris County Pets does not honor pledges or donations made for specific pets within the center & will not request for specific animal ID donations. Friends of CountyPets does not maintain details about the animals in care at the resource center, and therefore does not request or honor pledges or donations made to specific animal IDs. Supporters should speak directly to HCP about fostering or connecting with another authorized rescue to help specific animals in need.

AM I ABLE TO RECEIVE A TAX WRITE OFF FOR MY DONATION?

Probably. While we can not give tax advice, Friends of CountyPets is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. We use Constant Contact to send acknowledgments via email. Facebook does not always provide us with your email address, and therefore we might not be able to send you a Thank you for your gift automatically. Email info@friendsofcountypets.org if you would like to receive an acknowledgment. Confirm with your tax advisor.
